Emergency response training exercise held at Northamptonshire football stadium
As part of a training operation to test the emergency services response to a major incident, a training scenario was created at the football stadium on Saturday morning.
A smoke machine was used to simulate the fire, and police cadets were used as the ‘casualties’ of the blaze.

Hide AdRicky Deal, Rushden Fire Station manager, said he was very pleased with the training exercise, which included a staged rescue of two firefighters trapped inside the building.
He said: “Everyone worked together really well and it was a good opportunity for the firefighters to test our new breathing apparatus.
“We can learn a lot in a classroom but there is nothing better than actually having people manage an incident on the ground.”
The large-scale training exercise was one of 10 organised in Northamptonshire every year.
