Norhamptonshire gallery offers free framing gift vouchers to celebrate new launch
That’s what the owner of a new framing business in Northampton is asking people to think about for the chance to win their precious item framed for free.
The Rose Gallery, within Bell in Kingsthorpe Road, Northampton, has opened a new arm to its business by offering a framing service alongside the original and signed limited edition art works it already sells. The Rose Gallery’s owner, Deborah Davey, said she is very excited about her new venture and, to celebrate its launch, she is holding a competition inviting people to suggest what they would like to have framed, and why.

Anything can be framed, from baby’s first shoes to medals, collections of memorabilia, rugby and football shirts, special letters, children’s first art work, school photos and certificates. One client has a piece of the Berlin Wall they want framed.
“Items that are precious or sentimental are good things to be framed because they are then protected and can be personalised with inscriptions.”
All the framing at The Rose Gallery meets the Fine Art Trade Guild’s commended standards and customers are offered a choice of glass, which could be reflection-control or museum-grade quality.
“A lot of skills go into creating a handmade frame, which is a bespoke product,” added Deborah. “Starting prices are £45, but it all depends on the size of the piece that needs framing.”

“We also do restorations and are currently re-framing a client’s letters from Charles Spencer with a cricket photo because the letters had slipped in the old frame. It gives it a new lease of life.”
If you would like to enter The Rose Gallery 2016 Framing Competition, you should say what you would like framing and why, by the closing date of Thursday, June 30, 2016, including photographs of your choice. The winner will have their keepsake framed for free, as well as £100 in gift vouchers to spend in The Rose Gallery.
There are also two runner-up prizes of £25 in gift vouchers for The Rose Gallery.
