Billing Brook Special Academy Trust, in Holmecross Road, Thorplands, cut the ribbon on its new centre on Friday (February 9), which includes a new public cafe.
The centre will help students aged 16 and over with special educational needs, and its curriculum includes construction, childcare and work skills.

"This new centre with a café and retail area, open to the public, is a positive step to support our aim."
MP for Northampton North Michael Ellis snipped the ribbon and was on hand to release the balloons in support of the Northamptonshire Mental Health Awareness Initiative.
The school has 225 students aged between four and 18.
Mrs Grant said: "I have been so proud of the achievements and progress of the students in the short time we have been opened and I look forward to it being an essential resource for many others in the future.
