Emergency services are on scene and road closures are now in place in crash aftermath

Police have taped off part of Churchill Avenue in Lake View this afternoon after a car has driven into a house.

Eyewitness reports claim that neighbours have been evacuated and gas engineers are on scene making sure the area is safe.

A spokeswoman for Northamptonshire Police said: "This was reported at 3.20pm and involved a red SEAT Altea driving into a house in Churchill Avenue.

"A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving in connection with the offence."
