Police close off Northampton town centre roads as wind disturbs building signs

Two town centre roads have been closed off as police and firefighters deal with an incident.

Mare Fair and Horse Market down to Horseshoe Street have been shut off since around 3pm today (August 21).

The Sol Central building has been hit by strong winds and firefighters are dealing with damage.

Local people close to the area have seen that signs from the building have come loose.

A police spokeswoman has confirmed the roads are closed while firefighters deal with the incident and make the signs safe again.

The problem should be resolved soon and the roads will then be reopened.
