Mitch Pinnock is looking forward to spending another couple of seasons wearing Cobblers colours after putting pen to paper on a new long-term contract.
The 27-year-old joined Northampton last summer and enjoyed an excellent first season at the club, finishing with 12 assists and nine goals, and both parties were keen to ward off any potential interest by initiating talks over a new deal earlier this year.

"It's been going on for a little bit now but I'm just happy to get it sorted and now I can crack on with my football,” said Pinnock. "I really enjoyed my first season here and hopefully there is more of the same to come this year.
"Both Guths and Tyler have already signed contracts and they were having words with me! But it's important to keep a strong core of players together and I think we have done that here.”
Pinnock admits he was slow to get going this season but now feels back to his best form.
"I did start the season a bit slowly to be honest but I'm getting back into it now and hopefully I can carry that on,” he added.
